As I dig deeper into this whole process, I realize there are several reasons I’m doing it. I’m doing this to better my coaching. I’m a believer of not asking of others what you’re not willing to do yourself. When I coach my clients on environmental design, I want to know all aspects of the process so we can create a winnable game. I’m also ready for some big changes in my life and what better place to start than in my own home? I’ve set some big goals for myself and my life coaching practice in 2019. In order to achieve those dreams, I need to set myself up for success. As I look around my home, it doesn’t reflect Leanne the Life Coach as much as it reflects Leanne in Transition. Click here to read My Tidy Experiment Part 2. As a life coach, I’m spending a lot of time observing and learning about both the conscious and subconscious effects of our environment. Thanks to my own unique situation, I’ve been personally obsessed with this particular notion for the past several months. Although our environment is made up of nine different parts, our physical surroundings are probably the first thing we think about when we hear the word “environment”. There are many ways to assess our surroundings, and since everyone including my clients have been talking about the latest craze of tidying up, I thought it’d be fun to experiment with it. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve no doubt heard about Marie Kondo and her “Japanese art of decluttering and organizing” (also called the KonMarie Method). Enthusiastically jumping on the bandwagon, I picked up a copy of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. It was an easy read and by the time I finished, it was as if I were

Sometimes life gets piled up with other problems during a break up and dealing with all of it takes on more than you feel you can deal with. The divorce or break involves getting through so much emotion in order to make the split happen. You know in your heart it is the only way to achieve everything else. Shift your mindset to keep on moving forward with your life. The divorce does not define, you but how you move forward does. Taking control and coping with it will help you in feeling liberated. If you need extra help with a counselor or life coach, get it. It will be great to feel freeonce again . It’s up to you to take back control of your life. Episode 060: Stop Pretending & Start Living! with special guest Sunny Joy McMillan Sunny Joy McMillan shared her divorce journey. At the young age of 23, Sunny married older man who was an attorney. Sunny later became an attorney herself. Thinking back, Sunny now thinks the marriage was more about success and appearances. During their 12 year marriage they did not see eye to eye on things. Sunny went to therapy. She did not tell anybody else she was unhappy. She and her husband did a lot of arguing over things. Sunny asked her husband if he would like to attend The Burning Man Festival with her and he agreed. For her, the experience sent her on a different mindset. Afterward, she and her husband agreed on a six-month separation. There was no cheating. They continued wearing wedding rings and would talk a couple times a month. He told her that if she was really unhappy he would give her a divorce, and he did. It would be three years before they would again have a conversation with one another. They eventually made amends and Sunny took ownership over her role as an equal player in misery during the 12 years they were married. It opened the doors between
