By Help Person|December 25, 2018|Thoughts from Mom-nonymous, Uncategorized|0 comments

Surprise! Surprise! King of the One Liners, Barry Weisenberg, returns to share with us.  Today Barry has found happiness with The Very Best Woman Ever (we’ll refer to her as The Girlfriend from this point forward). They met on Match.com. The girlfriend, now divorced, had been married for 20 years with two children.  Both she and Barry knew on their first date that it felt right. Barry was single after a ten-year relationship, which gave him a son. Barry shares custody with his ex. Now that relationship is behind him, has finally found THE ONE. They are immensely happy with one another. The Girlfriend has updated his look, cooks for him, and can do his comedy if needed. She enjoys seeing him perform. What could be better than that for a comic? The Girlfriend even likes his son and enjoys spending time with him. Sounds like everything is right for the two of you. It’s better than winning at Bingo! Sorry, Barry, even this blogger can be funny. I do wish you both the best. Each week Mom-nonymous shares her thoughts on the episode. Mom-nonymous is a wife, mom, and listener of Life Lafter Divorce Podcast. She’s been married for over 50 years, has never been divorced, and would like

Episode 096: Thoughts from Mom-nonymous

By Help Person|December 4, 2018|Thoughts from Mom-nonymous, Uncategorized|0 comments

Episode 096: The Funny Thing About Relationships with Barry Weisenberg This week’s guest, Barry Weisenberg, “King of One Liners” Stand Up Comedian, tells how relationships affect comedy and vise versa. On board with this is Leanne Linsky, another Stand Up Comic. They compare notes and The Boyfriend joins in with lots of questions. What a fun episode this was! Comedy is a science which takes a lot of  thought, writing, and reflection of moments in their lives. For Barry, it goes back to his childhood, bullying, and rejection. Barry said that at times he had really low self esteem, depressen, and even thoughts of suicide. Relationships can also affect us that way. However, these two comics share more in their comedic skills. While waiting in the wings to go on stage and observing other comics they learn so much. When a comic bombs, and they have all done that at one time or another, they relate to that feeling. They will encourage that comic to come back and do something new next time. The more you perform the more you learn. Sometimes doing comedy makes for short relationships. The nightly hours don’t always work. Significant others have to enjoy your humor and talent. It takes

Episode 086: When a divorced family is all you know with special guest Gianmarco Soresi I found a real insight to children of divorce with Gianmarco Soresi. His parents divorced when he was one week old. He endured years of going back and forth between them. His Dad has various girlfriends while Gianmarco was growing up. He’d be kinda nice as kids warm up. On holidays and birthdays Gianmarco always got extra presents. His Mom remarried right after the divorce. As a matter of fact, she married his Dad’s lawyer. His stepfather was strict compared to his Dad who.had the party house. His parents set up a schedule for him throughout the years. There was always a place to be. While attending college Gianmarco dated the same girl all four years with an an agreement that after graduation they would part ways. However they did still date and collaborated on writing a play together. The play was about relationships. Gianmarco wanted to perform it with her, but she moved on and married another guy. Gianmarco continues his dream and cast the play with someone else and his ex is having a baby. He’s performed the play and received rave reviews  — and continues to do so. Episode 084: Brazil, Missing Husband, Ohio, Cops, Rajneesh, & Geddy Lee with special guest Kathleen Parsons Kathleen Parsons was a very free spirited young girl when she left her Ohio home at the age of 14 to live in Hawaii for awhile. It was just the beginning of her travels and free lifestyle and adventures. While living the good times in San Francisco, she enjoyed the company of many friends from different countries. The subject of “green cards” came up often in conversation and she was wondering if she would need one also. That was the Haight and Ashbury scene, and most of her new friends went by different names. It was a place of ongoing party life. One night she went to a male strip joint and really liked the looks of a handsome guy. So she put $20s in his g-string and told him you can’t keep it so you will have to give it all back to me because I really need it. And he did. The following evening she went to a house party and their he was, dancing naked. Katheen and the naked guy became a couple and lived together for a year, broke up for a year, got back together, and got married in

Episode 081: He’d Rather Be In The Ring Than Wear It

By Help Person|August 21, 2018|Show notes, Uncategorized|0 comments

Episode 81: He’d Rather Be In The Ring Than Wear It with special guest Frankie Estrella aka Mr Top Notch Leanne and The Boyfriend discuss how jobs/careers really impact our relationships. For instance, in comedy it’s really hard to date someone who’s not a performer. Most people don’t really understand why their partner is hanging out at a bar all night. They don’t perceive that to be real work. It’s the same for many performers. They keep different hours, they’re not sitting behind a desk, it’s a very creative environment. And because it’s not really structured, it’s hard for other people to relate. The same can be said for people with more traditional jobs. If someone works long hours, he/she may be more likely to date someone in the same field because they get it. Meet Frankie “Mr. Top Notch” Estrella. Frankie is an Improviser, Clown Performer, Former World Power Wrestling Heavyweight and Tag Team Champion, and Host of W.T.F.E. Podcast (listen on SoundCloud). Frankie has never been married and he’s not so sure he wants to ever get married. He finds that most people end up divorced or not valuing their vows – so what’s the point? Frankie keeps late hours and works out
