Episode 067: Thoughts from Mom-nonymous
Episode 067: Episode 067: Dating Mishaps, Misconceptions, and Missed Connections with special guests Marc Adam Smith and Madeline O’Hara.
Todays’ discussion was with previous guests, Marc Adam Smith and Madeline O’hara. Both are long time improv friends of Leanne. Today they shared their thoughts on dating and how some of it has changed in the past few years. First, I should mention they live in New York City. Safety is a big issue for various reasons. When it comes to technology and dating sites, you should double check the website your using or Google the person you’re interested in for more info. Sometimes you find important information that they may refrain from sharing with you. Meet in a public place and have a friend nearby to rescue you if you have doubts. Never have them come to your apartment or place of employment. If you are having too much to drink, get yourself a cab and go home. Don’t trust Uber or Lyft if you aren’t sure they are legit. Never share too much info on websites either.
Maddie shared some of the experiences she and her girlfriend have had as a gay couple. When visiting home in a southern state together, they felt they’d be frowned upon as the two of them were holding hands. However In NY it’s not such a big deal. Acceptance is not the same everywhere. Marc is a bit older and finds dating sites a challenge. His biggest fear is rejection. He is not alone with that as I feel everyone gets rejected many times and really have no idea why.
