Episode 073: When Life Gets Lifey with special guests David Hicok David Hicok is a financial advisor who resides in Long Beach, California. Today David is a happy guy. He shares his journey to get to this place. It took several years and major changes. David and his first wife were married for 18+ years (it took a few to finalize the divorce) and their story has a few different chapters. When they were dating, they lived together in Laguna Beach and she had a nice job. She had grown kids. She and David moved to Pasadena. David changed careers and the money was not as good and he hated his job. Neither of them were happy. David decided to go back to school for a degree while he was still working full-time. His wife felt ignored and was not happy. She told David that he threw away their marriage and now she wanted a divorce. They agreed to split. However, she she didn’t do anything to get the process started. After many false starts, they finally hired a Dream Team and officially ended the marriage. Episode 071: Sexy Boss Part 1 of 2 with special guest Heather Ann Havenwood  Heather Ann Havenwood is a very successful woman in her own right. She is the daughter of divorced parents. Heather and her dad went into business together and it ended badly. Her dad was her first encounter with a narcissistic male. Heather lost millions, her company, and her Dad. She felt like it was a divorce of sorts. Her dad no longer spoke to her. She went through a grieving process. Her father said she was being over dramatic. She went back and apologized hoping to get his help and support to move on. He said no. When Heather was 24 she got engaged.  But she had become a strong self-reliant woman and wasn’t ready for marriage and she broke it off. Heather soon found herself in another relationship and moved to Texas to be with her new partner. The relationship went south and he moved to to Seattle. Episode 070: The Bride & The Best Man with special guests Chris, Misty, and Glenn The wedding is now over. A few members of the wedding party hashed over what a mistake Misty had made. They were certain her new husband was not “the one” for her. Although Chris had been friends with the Creep, he too saw many of his shortcomings. Misty had witnessed this same behavior with her Mom and step-dad and must have thought it was the norm. After some time,  Creep moved Misty away from family and her comfort zone. She was kinda stuck. She wanted to further her own education but instead took on a low paying job teaching flute. Creep was now Misty’s boss and had complete control over her. Misty was unhappy and unable to move on. She suggested that they get marriage counseling. Creep said no. He was the total breadwinner and she had no money of her own. Misty was stuck. Chris remained friends with them both. Creep invited Chris to visit them and wanted Chris to help him build a computer. During this visit Chris realized how unhappy Misty was.
